Wisconsin raps up early this year.

This has been an emotional week before leaving this year. Cut short the Wisconsin stay to visit some friends in New York prior to the Mediterranean cruise. Sitting at the Milwaukee airport thinking back.
Many great memories to cherish including a nice long chat with mom outside overlooking Lake Wausau, Carly's visit while Austin and Jen took a quick trip to South Carolina, Carly's mock cross country event (wow can that girl run), meal visits with Austin's family and Patricia. We also enjoyed our last Trivia for awhile, lunch with Craig and Don and last night with Dave & Linda. So much more too. The plane came and went so I am finishing this from New York.
The summer has been great even if quick. A little more house hopping than we liked but now we know. One week at a cabin in the northwoods with visits by the kids and even Dave and Linda for an evening. Very tranquil.
So good to see the kids growing into big time adults. Very proud of them for choosing paths they are really passionate about and seeing Carly grow into the teenager she is now and loving to run and still enjoying gymnastics. She already knows more about rocks than I ever will and she really enjoys being part of it all with the rock digs and all that comes with it.
Gloria and the kids organized a 60th party for me that was terrific. So many family and friends came and it was very hot but an amazing time, thanks to everyone again.
We are very excited for what's ahead with all the travels. Even happier now that our friends showed us a local store that will box up whatever you want and ship it to Colombia for a reasonable price, from Wisconsin it is $150 or more. So we lightened or luggage collectively by 34 pounds, they were both maxed at 50 pounds each before. So the tools I collected and her clothing and a few odd and ends are headed south while we can much easier head to Europe, whew!
I am very surprised how easy it is to get around here in New York City, never having been here we both had no idea what to expect, other than it is quite pricey. We did the tourist thing hard for a couple of days and are looking forward to another visit. Glorias' friends have been great hosts and we also had visits with my niece Jess and her boyfriend Seth. Big town so it is nice to know somebody and they were all very generous.
Here's some summer photos
